Dr. Song is an
Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at
Old Dominion University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
University of Toledo in 2001. His research interests include protocols design
and performance analysis of mobile ad hoc networks and wireless sensor
networks, computer networks security, wireless communications, packet switch
architectures, and distributed data mining. Dr. Song is the recipient of NSF
CAREER award. He received early tenure and promotion in June of 2007. He is the
founder and director of the Wireless Communications and
Networking Laboratory. Dr. Song is an IEEE Senior member.
Since joining Old
Dominion University in June of 2002, Dr. Song has published more than 80
international journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, received
$1.4 million external research funding, supervised 3 Ph.D. students and 12
Master students, severed as a TPC chair, Session chair, TPC member, and
reviewer in more than 50 international conferences, Editor-in-Chief of one
international journal, and Editor/Guest Editor of 10 international journals. He
is currently supervising the research of 6 PhD
students and 3 Master students.
